What is the Instrument Rating Instructor?

if you hold a Commercial Pilot's Licence, as well as an Instrument Rating and a Flight Instructor Rating, you can become an Instrument Rating instructor. Training for the IRI

You must hold an unrestricted JAA Instructor Rating prior to commencing the course. The course consists of 5 hours of flight instruction, and 30 hours of groundschool. At the end of the course, you will be required to take a skill test with a Flight Instructor Examiner. EFT will usually arrange for this test, although you may make your own arrangements.

Until you have at least 200 hours of instrument flight time, you will only be able to teach the IMC rating. Upon gaining the necessary experience, you will automatically be upgraded to full Instrument Rating Instructor.
